What is Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is well worth the effort and investment- like learning anything, it takes time and consistent practice to fine tune your skills, but once you have them… you are set! Give it a go!

Hypnobirthing has a bad wrap sometimes for being ‘hippy’ or ‘weird’. You might be a bit skeptical yourself and that’s absolutely fine! There is a sense of mystery around hypnobirthing so lets get rid of it.

Hypnobirthing teaches self hypnosis or relaxation techniques that help women have more gentle and easier births. Techniques include the use of deep breathing, visualisations & affirmations to help create a more positive mindset for the big day. Its about unlearning all the negative associations we have and replacing them with positive, balanced and helpful information.

Hypnobirthing does not ‘train’ you to give birth, YOU are all perfectly capable of giving birth, it is an innate ability you have. What it does do is, allow you to relax and work with your body to help it give birth easily and relatively pain free.

In Mindful Birthing I also incorporate mindfulness, psycho education, neuroscience and ante-natal education. I utilise all of this to help you gain knowledge, confidence and control over your labour and birth experience. I help women change their mindset about birth which allows you to relax into your pregnancy and feel prepared & ready to receive your new little bundle.
